How the world started (Greek version)

According to the Greeks at the beginning there was nothing . There was one primodorial god sort of thing called Chaos . It was a dark soupy mist of nothing. In fact it is the definition of nothing. So one fine day Chaos got bored and created something called the Earth.  Then earth developed a human form and called itself Gaiea. She was the personification of mother earth. After sometime even she got bored and created the sky - a big blue dome on top of the earth . The sky developed a male personality called Ouranous.  He came down to Earth and married Gaiea. Meanwhile Chaos had a lot of fun creating stuff so he created something called Tartarus or the pit of evil. The soupy mist from Chaos collected  in  the earth's ridges and formed the worlds first oceans . Both of them developed male personalities. Tartarus was Tartarus and The oceans called himself Pontus.

So next,  Gaiea had kids with Ouranous. First were a batcharged of 12 kids called Titans . They wretched big strong powerful and are obviously immortal.  Ouranous neglected his family he somehow all by himself had a child called Nyx who is the goddess of pure night and she all by herself had a daughter Hemera the goddess of the day. Gaiea thought that if they had another batch of kids her husband would come back to her but as maybe you can guess it was a very bad idea. The next batch of kids were called cyclops.  They were so gruesome looking  with one eye plastered on their faces that all handsome Ouranous threw them into Tartarus.  Gaiea was very disappointed but she still had hope that things could work out between her and her husband . They decided to have another batch of kids.  Gosh now you understand how many  bad ideas they had . These kids were worse they had hundred tiny arms and looked grotesque by to Gaiea they were cute. Believe it that was her definition of cute ! Ouranous threw them in Tartarus too.

Well now she lost it . She threw a tantrum that scared her husband away. The titans came running  upto her . Even they didn't like their father much . Gaiea summoned a scythe which is probably the first weapon in the world.  Then Kronos the youngest Titan volunteered to murder their father along with four other titans -Krios, Koios, Hyperion and Iapeteus.  They lured Ouranous into an ambush and held himy down when Kronos chopped him up into tiny little pieces with his scythe. The blood of immortals- Ichor spilled everywhere. Many creatures erupted from there which we will dicuss about later. Kronos then threw the chopped pieces into the ocean . The ocean started for thing and from that forth a goddess was born - Aphrodite we will talk about how  she is later on. Kronos then became the King of cosmos and the lord of time . Later Kronos got married to his sister Rehea and gave birth to 6 kids out of which 5 he swallowed.  The youngest Zeus got his siblings back and chopped his father into pieces and threw the remains into tartarus. He then became the king of cosmos. We will talk about these gods and their stories later on ..........
